The Beasts

Slowly moving out from the shadows,

The weary animal let’s out a small hallow.

Not sure of what to make of me,

I see the gleam of their teeth at me,

But the beast is careful too

But the beast is careful too

As the shadows get clearer,

I see that more are drawing nearer,

They bait me with their sight,

To see if I will offer a fight,

But the beasts are careful too

But the beasts are careful too

The beasts furry back surrounds me in alley.

I slowly back against the wall trying to take a tally.

I know that there’s none behind me,

I try to run but they find me,

But the beasts are careful too

But the beasts are careful too

My clothes begin to shred,

And I am only seeing red,

I run till they are behind me,

And then I hide so they won’t find me,

But the beasts they must pursue

But the beasts they must pursue

Hiding behind the shrub,

As they are drooling for their grub,

Then I hear other people’s screams,

And I am finally safe it seems,

But the beasts they will be back,

But the beasts they will be back.
